Sinopharm COVID-19 Vaccines and Syringes Donated by the People’s Republic of China Arrive in Myanmar

 

The first batch of five million doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine and two million syringes among ten million doses of COVID-19 vaccines and 13.056 million syringes donated by the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar for COVID-19 prevention activities of the country arrived at Yangon International Airport on 18 May and the respective officials received those items.

The remaining five million syringes for Sinopharm vaccine doses will arrive on 19 May and further five million doses of COVID-19 vaccine and five million syringes on 28 and 29 May respectively. These arriving vaccines and syringes will be used in the vaccination process of students when the school are reopening.

The Ministry of Health has received 15.4 million doses of COVISHIELD, 26.7 million doses of Sinopharm, three million doses of Sinovac, 0.6 million doses of Sputnik-V, and one million doses of Myancopharm, totaling 46.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines bought from other countries, whereas, 2.6 million doses of COVISHIELD, 8.56 million doses of Sinopharm, 9.22 million doses of Sinovac, 3.2 million doses of Covaxin, 1.5 million doses of Astrazeneca, and 0.4 million doses of Sputnik-V, totaling 25.48 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines donated by other countries.
