Alms and Offertories Donated to 10,264 Buddhist Monks in Four Corners of Mandalay Moat

 

In commemoration of the Sasana Year 2566, the Maha Mingala Donation Ceremony of the alms and offerings to 10,264 monks in four corners of the Mandalay Moat was simultaneously held at designated place located at East, West, South and North sides of the Mandalay Moat in Mandalay on 14 May. The event was graced by State Ovadacariya Presiding Sayadaw of Maha Dhammi Karama Meiktila Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Bhanaddanta Sujanapira and Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Maung Ko, Commander of Central Command Maj-Gen Ko Ko Oo, regional ministers, departmental officials, social welfare associations, and generous donors.

During the event, the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, and families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) donated offerings and cash worth K232,157,180 and Mandalay region government, departmental staff, social welfare associations and generous donors presented K617,845,380, totalling K850,002,560 to 10,264 monks. Moreover, 108-monk groups recited Paritta in 21 townships of Mandalay Region as well as more than 300-monk groups in Magway and Taungdwingyi townships of Magway Region. The officials from respective military stations, departmental staff and generous donors presented alms and offerings to monks respectively.
