The ceremony of public talk on national reconsolidation and peace was held on 27 December to mark the 75th Diamond Jubilee Union Day. The Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Htun Aung Myint, ministers for ethnic affairs of Kachin, Kayin and Shan states, the representative of Lisu ethnicity and members and departmental officials attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, the Union Minister said:
· The ethnic people can enjoy the benefits of development and the well-beings of the people will also be ensured only if the country is peaceful.
· Leadership, policy and implementation are key factors for the development of the State, and moreover it is necessary to preserve ethnic people’s literature and culture from disappearance.
It is reported that the ministers for ethnic affairs of Kachin, Kayin and Shan states and the representative of Lisu ethnicity also discussed the measures on national solidarity and peace.
