PDF Terrorists Abducted and Brutally Killed Innocent Civilians and Buddhist Monks

The terrorists of political extremists, upholding the dogma of ‘everyone who differ from my attitude is my enemy’, are committing the inhumane crimes of killing innocent civilians. Moreover, it is sorrowfully found out that the terrorists are also carrying out shootings at and blowing up the religious buildings and sites sacred by people of Buddhism and abducting and killing the Buddhist monks as well.

• On 10 May, PDF terrorists arrived in the Thin Paung village of Myaing township and abducted three residents U Tartee of 25, U Aung Win of 29, U Soe of 61 as well as the monk U Thumana of 44 (14 monastic years) from the village monastery. They then shot and chopped down the abductees after accusing them of ‘spy/dalan’ leaving the victims dead at the scene.
• Similarly, PDF terrorists arrived at the Pitsimaryone monastery located in Myauklukan village of Pakkoku township on 11 May and abducted the abbot monk U Kawvida of 78 (58 monastic years). They then recklessly shot the monk to death outside of the monastery.

Up to 12 May, as the result of motiveless shootings of the terrorists, a total of 47 Buddhist monks and one nun were killed while 15 monks got injured. Security forces reportedly continue necessary measures to identify and arrest the terrorists who brutally killed the Buddhist monks.
