On 3 May, armed PDF terrorists arrived at the Monastery of Tatgon village in Mawlaik township of Sagaing region. They then abducted the Buddhist abbot Venerable Dhamma Piya of 57 (monastic life of 30) to the outside of the monastery and shot at him. The Buddhist abbot was killed with gunshot wounds during the terrorists’ shootings. The two other Buddhist monks from the monastery; U Thuriya of 44 (monastic life of 24) and U Nyantika of 35 (monastic life of 16) managed to escape from the danger of the terrorists.
Under the guidance of the NUG group, PDF terrorists are committing nefarious violent acts with the use of guns such as killings of innocent civilians who do not support them, upholding the dogma ‘Whoever with different attitudes is my enemy’. Further, they are doing reckless shootings at and bomb attacks on religious buildings which are scared to Myanmar Buddhist people and making abductions and killings of Buddhist monks for no reasons. It is reported that the entire people are disgusted by those terrorists’ acts.
Until 6 May, 45 Buddhist monks and one nun were killed and another 15 monks got injured during terrorists’ motiveless brutal killings. Security forces members are pursuing in accordance with security procedures to identify and arrest the terrorists who killed Buddhist monks brutally.
