UEC Chairman U Thein Soe Receives Indian Ambassador to Myanmar

 

The Union Election Commission Chairman U Thein Soe received the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar at the office of Union Election Commission in Nay Pyi Taw on 25 April. During the call, the Indian Ambassador highlighted the following points:

  • Myanmar and India are good neighboring countries and both of them have the same history in developing religion, culture and democratic system.
  • India will continue further cooperation with the UEC and give the assistance to it. Moreover, he also asked about the matters regarding the electoral processes, the cooperation between two countries and the provision of assistance.

It is reported that the UEC Chairman cordially discussed the compiling of voter lists to hold the election, inspections of political parties, preparations to adopt a PR system and good cooperation between the two countries in electoral processes.
