Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Issued a Statement on Peace

 

During the invitation period for peace talks and in the progress of talks, Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) should not make activities that can affect peace. The Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services issued a statement that the Tatmadaw will take necessary actions in response to the attack if they do so, on 22 April.

The Tatmadaw has ceased the fire until the end of 2022, leading to the enduring peace that the entire people are longing for.

The Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services said that the upcoming 4 January 2023 is Diamond Jubilee Independence Day as well as the current 2022 is peaceful year. Moreover, as it is necessary to implement peace process practically, the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister invite leaders of the EAOs to discuss frankly in-person in the meeting. The Prime Minister of the State will meet with all groups.

During the invitation period for peace talks and in the progress of talks, ethnic armed organizations should not make activities that can affect peace, such as recruitment, operations, land expansion and attacks on bases and headquarters of security members who are serving duties for security and the rule of law. If they do so, the Tatmadaw will take necessary actions in response to the attacks.
