COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Activities Continue in Respective Regions and States

COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities such as opening quarantine centres and vaccinating people against COVID-19 continue in respective regions and states.

  • Up to 19 April, 28.85 million people in total have been vaccinated against COVID-19. About 22.39 million people have received two-time full doses of the vaccine and 6.46 million people have received the first doses. A total of 52.44 million people have been inoculated against COVID-19 in Myanmar.
  • A total of 1,191,313 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as booster doses in respective regions and states from 1 January to 19 April 2022.

Officials continue to welcome Myanmar nationals who returned from abroad at various border crossings as per the instruction of the State Administration Council. Returnees were welcomed at the border crossings located in Kachin state, Kayin state, Tanintharyi region and Shan state. A total of 75,175 Myanmar nationals had returned to Myanmar from abroad from 25 July 2021 to 19 April 2022.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 56 new cases of COVID-19 were detected from testing a total of 10,345 samples and accounting for 0.54 percent on 19 April. Up to 19 April 2022, a total of 612,658 cases were detected from testing a total of 7,848,897 samples and death-toll reached 19,434.
