Perpetrators Robbed about K217 Million from KBZ Bank in South Okkalapa Township Arrested along with Evidence Cash, Weapons/Ammunition, and Stimulant Drugs

An incident was occurred that nine males robbed about K217 million from KBZ bank (branch) located on Thanthuma road in South Okkalapa township of Yangon region on 6 April 2022, at gun point. So, the security force members were conducting necessary investigations to identify and arrest the offenders by opening file under criminal code at the Myoma police station of South Okkalapa township. In doing so, as the security force members found out that the offenders committed robbery used the TOYOTA PROBOX vehicle (plate no. YGN 3D/3400) which was used in the incident and they then changed the (plate no. YGN CC/8336) at this vehicle, necessary measures were being taken to seize that vehicle (plate no. YGN 7D/3400). Then, Arkar Kyaw (aka) Arkar, 41, a resident of house no. (147), Homl street no. (4) street, Butar ward of Sanchaung township was arrested along with this vehicle at Orange store on Homl street in Butar ward on 8 April.

According to the confessions of arrested offenders and their interrogation results:

· An offender was arrested at Hlegu township.

· Three offenders were arrested along with evidence cash K118,000 and a CALDINA vehicle at Sanchaung township.

· Four offenders were arrested along with robbed cash K10.125 million, five stimulant tablets and one round of 0.380 AUTO bullet at Ahlone township.

· Two offenders were arrested along with K129.94 million, a pistol, a plastic gun and two stun guns at Mingaladon township.

· Five offenders were arrested along with one homemade gun, five rounds of 12 volt bullet, one multi-coloured smoke bombs, two drones, seven kinds of handphones and evidence cash K12.5 million at Thongwa township.

A total of 18 perpetrators (15 males and three females) participated in the robbery were arrested along with evidence cash K115.183 million, four grenades, one smoke bomb, one pistol, two homemade guns, one plastic gun, two stun guns, 49 rounds of .22 bullet, five rounds of 12 volt bullet, two pieces of drone, one round of .380 AUTO bullet, three fuses of grenades, 10 ticals of gundpowder and five stimulant tablets.

Therefore, the security force members are reportedly taking necessary security measures to arrest the offenders who are still at large participated in the incident as soon as possible and take legal action under the law against them.
