Although the State Administration Council continues the COVID-19 precautionary measures without losing its momentum, PDF terrorists, the subordinate units of the NUG terrorist group are committing the nefarious crimes such as bombing the COVID-19 vaccination points; destroying the COVID-19 treatment and quarantine centres as well as carrying out IED attacks against the vehicles transporting COVID-19 vaccines.
On 8 April, an IED planted by terrorists exploded near the COVID-19 vaccination site on Ye-U – Taze road in Taze township of Sagaing region. In the incident, while a combined team comprising health staff were vaccinating the people passing on the road who have not vaccinated against COVID-19, terrorists blew up an IED from 45 yards away to the south of the vaccination site. Due to the explosion, three departmental servants from the combined team got splinter wounds and a window glass on the left side of a vehicle used by the team was shattered.
Under the guidance of NUG group, the so-called PDF terrorists are conducting acts of terrorism on COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities and they committed 37 attacks on hospitals where COVID-19 patients are receiving treatments, COVID-19 quarantine centres, COVID-19 inspection gates, COVID-19 vaccination sites, the places where the oxygen distributed free of charge, the trucks carrying COVID-19 vaccines and vehicles of social welfare association up to 10 April 2022. Therefore, 33 innocent civilians arriving there to vaccinate against COVID-19 were died including health staff, volunteers and security force members and 16 others were injured.
Security forces continue necessary measures to arrest the terrorists who made the explosion attack.
- On 8 April, terrorists carried out an IED attack against a combined team comprising health staff vaccinating the people passing on the road against COVID-19 on Ye-U – Taze road in Taze township leaving three servants from the team injured and a vehicle damaged.
