Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win attended the ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting and related meetings virtually held by Cambodia on 7 April. During the meeting, the following points are highlighted:
- Matters related to finding ways to work together to ensure the long-term sustainability and development in the post-COVID.
- ASEAN financial cooperation issues working towards an inclusive and solid environment, progress of the Roadmap for Monetary and Financial Integration of ASEAN (RIA-Fin) and priorities despite the global uncertainties.
- United States’ plans to respond the COVID-19 impacts as well as the matters relating to possible cooperation in the recovery efforts in the post-COVID-19 period in the ASEAN region which is their trading partner.
It is reported that the deputy ministers and vice-chairmen of Finance and Central Banks from ASEAN member States and officials from ASEAN Secretariat also attended the meeting. The ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting to be held in 2023 will be hosted by Indonesia.
