Members of anti-narcotic task force from Ministry of Home Affairs of Myanmar are putting stress on seizures of narcotic drugs, and the seizures in March 2022 were as follows:
· From 1 to 31 March, a total of 900 drug-related offenders including 788 males and 112 females were arrested across the country. Along with them, a total of MMK 117,341.598 million ( over US$ 73 million) worth narcotic drugs: 226.326 kilos of opium; 75.871 kilos of heroin; 8,156,174 stimulant tablets; 5.015 kilos of stimulant piece; 4,387.102 kilos of Ice (crystal meth); 24.007 kilos of marijuana; 62.4 kilos of concentrated opium solid; 1.05 kilos of low-grade opium; 232.797 kilos of Kratom leaves; 45.898 kilos of Kratom powder; 1.8 litres of Kratom liquid; 113 Ecstasy tablets; 1,118.099 kilos of Ketamine; 1,101.01 kilos of Caffeine; 33,675 kilos of Ammonium Nitrate; 1,350 kilos of Sodium cyanide; 1,932 litres of Formic Acid and 20 litres of scent liquid were seized.
The arrested drug-related offenders were handed over to the relevant police stations and punitive actions are being taken against them in accordance with the law.
