A Buddhist Monk from Taung Kyaung Monastery Brutally Killed by PDF Terrorists in Kin Village of Madaya Township

Terrorists of political extremists, with the intent to disrupt the State’s peace and stability as well as to create public panic, are blowing up the departmental office buildings, roads/bridges and schools and also killing civil servants including teachers. Moreover, they are also launching terrorist attacks against and exploding the religious buildings, sacred by Buddhist Myanmar people and, for good measures, abducting and killing the Buddhist monks.

On 3 April, in Madaya township of Mandalay region, while the Taung Kyaung Monastery Sayardaw Bhaddanta Thusariya (27 years of monastic life, 47 years) was staying at ease in his room, around 10 PDF terrorists riding motorbikes arrived at the monastery, then brutally fired about 11 shots to the Sayardaw and left the monastery. The Sayardaw died on the spot with the gunshot injuries on his back, below the right ear, on the belly and on left forearm. The body of the Sayardaw was taken to the public hospital of Madaya township.

PDF terrorists are committing the callous crimes against the Buddhist religion such as blowing up and burning down the pagodas, temples and monastery and also abducting and brutally killing Buddhist Sangas and nuns. It is reported that 35 Buddhist Sagas and one nun were killed up to 4 April.

Security forces are joining hands together with people to arrest the terrorists. People are also urged and informed to cooperate with security forces by secretly informing the about the movement of the PDF terrorist groups who are doing such terrorist acts.
