The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee held a discussion with the Shan State Progressive Party-SSPP representatives at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Nay Pyi Taw on 31 March.
State Administration Council member Chairman of National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee explained regional development programmes, reduction of conflicts, fulfilling the needs of residents, cooperation works to ensure successful holding of a free and fair multiparty democracy general election and measures of State peace and stability.
Then, SSPP Vice-Chairman (2) discussed the matters in regard to establishing a community ensuring peace and stability and prevalence of law and order, trust-building measures for regional stability and security on both sides, and overcoming obstacles by holding several dialogues.
They also reportedly focused on current situations among ethnic armed groups in Shan State, further peace process and regional development sectors.
