Opening Ceremonies of Local Development Projects in Commemoration of 77th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day

In commemoration of 77th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, the opening ceremonies of local projects for the socio-economic development of local people including transportation in respective regions and states were held.

  • The opening ceremonies of 787-foot-long Bawdikan Bridge located on Taninthayi-Mawtaung road of Myeik township of Taninthayi region and 1200-foot-long Bokpyin-Ohntawkan Bridge located on Bokpyin-Ohntawkan road, Bokpyin township of Taninthayi region were held.
  • The new concrete road located beside Yangon-Sittwe highway near Kontaung village of Punnakyun township of Rakhine state was opened on 25 March. The road has 2500 feet in length and 14 feet in width.
  • Sandar street which has 9385 feet in length, 40 feet in width and 3 inches in height located in No. (5) ward of Pyin Oo Lwin township and Maha Ant Htoo Kan Thar pagoda street which has 2500 feet in length, 18 feet in width and 3 inches in height were respectively opened.
  • Humon-Mannar tar road located in Humon village of Lashio township of Shan state (north) was opened in 25 March. The road is 9627 feet long, 12 feet wide and built with the cost of K121.34 million.
  • The RBE train trip on the route of Pyidawtha (Sittwe)-Yaychanpyin in Rakhine state was resumed on 24 March 2022 following a temporary suspension due to COVID-19 pandemic since 10 April 2020.
  • The RBE Mandalay circular train trip on the route of Mandalay-Thayezay was resumed on 25 March 2022 following a temporary suspension due to COVID-19 pandemic since 9 February 2020.
  • In Ayeyarwady region, new staff housing in district project office and new concrete street in Taungyargone village in Pathein city were opened respectively on 24 March.
  • Hlaing river-Hlawkar water supply factory for the hydropower project in Hmawbi township of Yangon region was opened on 25 March.
  • A total of 250 people including officers, soldiers, wives and family members from the military units in the areas of Southwest Command and Central Command donated blood and ‘My Home’ cloth shop also contributed K2.5 millions to the blood drive.

It is reported that the opening ceremonies were respectively held in regions and states with the presence of Chief Ministers, Commanders of respective Regional Military Commands, and authorities concerned.
