Commanding Officer-Level Flag Meeting Held between Myanmar and Bangladesh

A Commanding Officer-Level Flag Meeting between the border guard forces of Myanmar and Bangladesh was held at the Port of Entry (POE) in Maungtaw town of Rakhine State on 22 March.

The meeting discussed matters related to prevention of the cross-border crimes in the border areas between the two countries, prevention of the illegal border crossings, the drug risk prevention, the border security and the law and order, the real-time exchange of information between the two border guards, the task of educating people in the border area and the terrorist attacks committed by ARSA and RSO terrorist groups in Myanmar by illegally entering Myanmar.

After the meeting, Myanmar Border Guard Police Force No 1 handed over 41 Bangladeshi citizens who had already been prosecuted in line with Myanmar’s domestic law to the Bangladesh Border Guard Force No 2 (Teknaf) as per the procedures.
