According to the observations at 03:30 am on 22 March, the deep depression over North Andaman Sea and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal has moved North wards and now it is centred over the Sea at Northeast of Coco Island, South- Southwest of Hainggyikyun, South-Southwest of Pathein, South-Southwest of Gwa, South-Southwest of Yangon (Myanmar), North-Northeast of Port Blair and Northeast of Mayabundar (India). It is likely continuous to move towards Deltaic Ayeyawady of Myanmar from near Hainggyikyun and the present stage of the depression is coded red stage.
The current position of deep depression is:
- The deep depression may lead near Hainggyikyun, Ayeyawady Region on 22 March and maximum wind speed may reach (50-55) mph in Ayeyawady and Yangon regions.
- The deep depression may lead near Rakhine coast on 23 March and maximum wind speed may reach (40-45) mph.
- The coordination meeting on the Depression over Bay of Bengal was held in the hall of the office of Ayeyarwady government on 21 March. During the meeting, Chief Minister and officials discussed the measures related to natural disaster management.
The Commander of South Western Command and officials inspected the preparation of search and rescue works and the packaging five different types of food for residents, and made coordination for it if the natural disaster occur the Ayeyarwady region.
