Union Minister for Health Discusses Measures of Supply of COVID-19 Vaccines to Myanmar with ASEAN Secretary-General

The Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received a delegation led by ASEAN Secretary-General at the Union Minister’s guest hall of the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw on 21 March. They discussed the following points:

  • The matters of humanitarian assistance related to COVID-19 preventive measures in Myanmar provided by COVID-19 ASEAN Response Fund and the ASEAN AHA Centre.
  • The distributed conditions of more than 50 types of medicines and medical supplies worth of USD 1,188,748 to 58 hospitals and 17 regional and state public health departments since November 2021 and conditions as the first and second grants and the condition to collaborate for the third grant.
  • Measures of medical treatment and vaccination supervised by the Ministry of Health for the COVID-19 disease prevention, control and treatment activities in Myanmar were also discussed. Then, they held a cordial exchange of views on further cooperation in the provision ofthe COVID-19 vaccines between the Ministry and the ASEAN Secretariat.

The deputy minister, the directors-general and responsible persons, the ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General, senior officials from the ASEAN Secretariat and officials from the ASEAN AHA Centre attended the ceremony.
