Members of State Administration Council Attend Opening Ceremony of Kyungon Bridge

 The opening ceremony of Kyungon bridge built on the Bogale-Mawlamyinekyun-Kyonmange-Wakema-Myaungmya Road in Wakema township of Myaungmya district ofAyeyawady regionwas held on 20 March. Members of the State Administration Council Daw Aye Nu Sein and U MoungHar, Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay,Chief Minister of Ayeyawady region, heads of the Ministry of Construction and other officials, persons from social organizations, local elders and residents attended the bridge opening ceremony.At the ceremony, State Administration Council member Daw Aye Nu Sein pointed out the following points:

  • The government prioritizes the infrastructural development which includes improving transportation: road; bridges and access to electricity.
  • The bridge was constructed to become a major link that connects Wakema-Kyonmange-Mawlamyinekyun-Bogale and Pyapon-Maubin-Twantay-Yangon can be travelled through Bogale in a short time. It can also connect Einmae-Yangon and Myaungmya-Myingkaseik-Pathein by using road network.
  • The government is trying to make efforts in order to have future peace of the country and peaceful lives for citizens.

It is reported that the 787-ft long, Kyungon Bridge is a 24-foot-wide two-lane reinforced concrete bridge, with the foundation constructed with Bored Pile and the superstructure made of steel mesh. The bridge load capacity is 60 tons.
