On 24 December, when security forces taking security measures in Hpruso township of Kayah state attempted to stop the suspected vehicles for necessary inspections, the vehicles did not stop and opened fire to the security forces. Therefore, security forces had to stop the vehicles by shooting and some terrorists were arrested dead along with weapons and ammunition.
· Security force members doing security duties near Muso village of Hpruso township attempted to stop seven various kinds of suspected vehicles driving towards the Muso village for necessary inspections. However, the vehicles did not stop and KNPP members and so-called PDF terrorists using small arms and grenades launched attacks to the security forces forcing the latter to retaliate.
· During the incident, KNPP members, so-called PDF terrorists and some recruits for terrorist training were arrested dead along with one M-16 rifle, one .22 gun, three hunting rifles, seven grenades, 25 rounds of M-16 ammunition, two magazines, camouflage uniforms, and other related items. The seven vehicles carrying petroleum, diesels, foodstuffs for the terrorists forcibly collected from local villages were also destroyed in fire.
According to the accounts of local people, it was also found out that the terrorist group is likely to be the one which fled in disguise in civilian dresses after attacking the passenger aircraft landing the Loikaw Airport in the morning of 24 December using improvised-electrically-triggered rockets.
The security forces are doing regular checks on the movement of the vehicles since the KNP members and so-called PDF terrorists wearing civilian dresses in disguise are attacking security forces doing duties for the security of townships, villages and transport infrastructures. In the above-mentioned incident, the terrorists wearing civilian dresses in disguise hiding weapons in the civilian vehicles launched attacks against the security and ran away. And therefore, security forces had to return fire to stop them. However, some media outlets who want to destroy the State are making fake news and fabrications to portray as if the security forces are killing innocent civilians.
Death cases are opened at relevant police stations for further investigations and security forces speeded up the security measures to ensure the security, peace, and stability of the area.
