KNPP Members and PDF Terrorists Attacked the Passenger Plane Landing at Loikaw Airport using Improvised Rockets

A flight of the Myanmar National Airlines was attacked with rockets during its landing at Loikaw Airport on 24 December. In the incident, a combined team comprising KNPP members and PDF terrorists taking cover of the residential houses in a ward of Loikaw township to attempted to shoot it down using improvised electrically-triggered 107mm rockets.

The flight with 64 passengers leaving Yangon for Loikaw landed at Loikaw Airport at around 8:35 am. At the moment, a combined group comprising KNPP members and PDF terrorists attacked the passenger aircraft using four 107 mm rockets using improvised launchers from two locations: near Bardoe village and a cemetery of the village of Loikaw township. The rockets fell and exploded to the east and 2,000 metres to southeast of the airport and no injury and damage were reported.

The KNPP members and PDF terrorists intentionally committed attacks on the passengers who are not related to military affairs to cause mass casualties. Security forces are investigating to arrest the terrorists .
