Stake Driving Ceremony Held for Construction of Kyauksaryon Pagodas and Sasana Beikmantaw in Maravijaya Buddha Park

A ceremony to drive stakes for the construction of Kyauksaryon Pagodas and Sasana Beikmantawwas held in the Maravijaya Buddha Park, Dekkhina Thiritownship of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on 16 March.

          The ceremony was graced by Venerable Sayadaws who will be conferred the title of 2022 Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru led by the Chairman of the State Sangha Mahanayaka Abhidhaja MahaRattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhi Vamsa, and local Ovadacariya Sayadaws. Likewise, the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the SAC members, Union Ministers, chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers, Commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, invitees and religious associations attended the ceremony.

          At the auspicious time, the Prime Minister drove Yadana stake at the stake-driving area of Kyauksaryon pagoda and sprinkled scented Paritta water on it. Then, Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and the SAC members drove Yadana stakes at the respective designated areas and sprinkled scented Paritta water on it.

          Afterwards, led by the Sayadaws, they recited the religious verses beginning with “Jayantaw Bodhiya Mule”, and the ceremony was concluded after three recitations of Buddha Sasana Siran Tittatu. Finally, rituals of gold and silver showers were performed.

          In the implementation for building Kyauksaryon pagodas, Pitaka stone inscriptions library, the record of the Fifth Buddhist Synod, the world’s biggest book and a UNESCO heritage in 2013 of Maha Lawkamarazein Kuthodaw Pagoda in Mandalay, were taken as the model in designing the library which has 729 stone tablets. It is reported that the grand Sasana Beikmantaw will be built in accord with Myanmar traditional designs.
