Aiming to increase friendship and cooperation between the Myanmar Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Armed Forces to exchange culture and arts, the Myanmar Armed Forces Cultural Team comprising 51 members led by Brigadier-General Ye Yint Aung from the Directorate of the Public Relations and Psychological Warfare, Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), left for Thailand on 8 March.
The third cultural exchange programme between Myanmar and Royal Thai armed forces was organized at the Office of the Chief of the Defence Forces of Thailand in Bangkok, Thailand on 10 March. The event was attended by Chief of the Defence Forces Gen.Chalermphon Srisawadi of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, officials from Office of the Chief of the Defence Forces of Thailand, Royal Thai Armed Forces Cultural Team leader Maj-Gen Krittaphum Luckklai and officials, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Khun Nay Tun Oo, Myanmar Armed Forces Cultural Team leader Brig-Gen Ye Yint Aung and members of cultural teams of both countries.
During the event, members of two cultural troupes from Myanmar and Royal Thai Armed Forces made performance and songs. After the cultural exchange show, Chief of the Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces presented bouquets and awards to the Myanmar Armed Forces Cultural Team.
The cultural team of Myanmar Armed Forces visited the Temple of Emerald Buddha and The Grand Palace in Bangkok on 11 March. Then, the team returned to Nay Pyi Taw airport from Bangkok, Thailand by air.
It is reported that the Myanmar Armed Forces cultural troupe exposed the cultural status and national cultures of the country and strengthened the military-to-military relationship between the two countries.
