Perpetrators Committed Robbery of Two Branches of KBZ Bank in Kyaukme and Hsipaw Townships of Shan State (North) at Gun Point, Arrested along with Evidenced Items

The perpetrators committed robbery of two branches of KBZ Bank in Kyaukme and Hsipaw townships of Shan state (North) at gun point, were arrested along with evidenced items.

  • On 3 September 2021, the incident occurred that three men (under scrutiny) with a vehicle were arriving at KBZ Bank Branch No (106) located in No (2) ward of Kyaukme township in Shan state (North). In the meantime, one of them was staying inside the vehicle and another two entered the Bank holding the gun and robbed K100 million from there.
  • On 28 February 2022, three men (under scrutiny) with a TOYOTA GAIA vehicle (licensed plate no. YGN 3E/4798) were arriving at KBZ Bank Branch located in Pann Dain (n) ward in Hsipaw township. At that time, they entered the Bank and one of them threatened the Bank staff and people arriving there to take out their cash and forced them to fall on the floor at gun point. Then another two perpetrators holding knives took K195.5 million on the table of the cash deposit counter, and put them into the handbag and fled to Kyaukme township by a vehicle.

In the above mentioned-incident, the security force members organizing the special investigation team were conducting the surveillance and blockage efforts, and found and seized TOYOTA GAIA white-coloured vehicle used in the robbery of KBZ bank of Hsipaw township, that was stopped beside the road near Loat Par village in Naung Pain village-tract of Kyaukme township in Shan state (North).

Continuously, as the security force members were conducting the investigation in order to arrest the perpetrators who committed the robbery, they arrested a suspect offender, Thaw Zin Ohn, 32, living in Thazi Ywarthit village of Patheingyi township in Mandalay region, who drove the seized vehicle, at Mingala village of Patheingyi township.

According to the confessions of the offender Thaw Zin Ohn, he did not participate in the robbery of KBZ bank and his friends Ngwe Lin Tun, Pyae Sone Winn Sin and Myo Myint Han (aka) Palaung committed the robbery. Due to the related information tip-off, Ngwe Lin Tun, 28, and his girlfriend Hnin Hnin Oo,30, Pyae Sone Winn Sin,29, and his wife Ma Sai Pan Nuu (aka) Myat Noe, 27, and Myo Min Han (aka) Palaung, 26, were arrested.

Moreover, the evidenced items which are K108 million, three golden necklaces, one gold ring, one gold pendant, five keypad phones, one tablet, six vouchers, two bank books, one pistol and two rounds of it used in the robbery, one TOYOTA GAIA white-coloured vehicle, and one HONDA FIT GE6 gray-coloured vehicle bought by the robbed cash were confiscated from the arrested offenders.

According to the confessions of the arrested offenders and their interrogation results,

  • As the arrested offenders were playing the betting, they committed the robbery.
  • The pistol used by Pyae Sone Winn Sin in the robbery was bought from Sai Li (under scrutiny), a member of SSP/SSA armed insurgent, young brother of Pyae Sone Winn Sin’s wife Sai Pan Nuu (aka) Myat Noe, via online. That pistol worth K1.65 million was bought with the cash of Pyae Sone Winn Sin and Ngwe Linn Tun.
  • The robbed cash were divided into Pyae Sone Winn Sin and Ngwe Lin Tun (K67 million per each), and Myo Myint Han (aka) Palaung (K35 million per each) respectively.
  • The wives of Ngwe Lin Tun and Pyae Sone Winn Sin, Hnin Hnin Oo and Sai Pan Nuu (aka) Myat Noe learnt that their husbands committed robbery but they failed to report to the relevant authorities. Moreover, it is found out that they kept the robbed cash, and gold wares and other related items bought by the robbed cash.
  • It is found out that the offenders Pyae Sone Winn Sin and Ngwe Lin Tun with Nagar (aka) Thant Zin Tun (still at large) committed the robbery of KBZ Bank in Kyaukme township on 3 September 2021, and robbed K129.8815 million and divided it by three.
  • The security force members are making investigation in order to arrest Nagar (aka) Thant Zin Tun (still at large) and arrested him at Butar ward (Shankone) in Nawnghkio township.
  • The security force members recovered the robbed cash K14 million that was used in the personal cases of the offenders Ngwe Lin Tun and Pyae Sone Winn Sin in Nawnghkio township.

It is reported that the five male offenders and two female offenders in the above-mentioned robbery will be taken effective action under the law, and the security force members are conducting the investigation to seize the remaining evidenced items.
