Edible Oil being sold via Mobile Market Vehicles in Townships of Yangon Region

The edible oil is being sold via mobile market vehicles in the townships of Yangon region, according to Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association.

The price of edible oil in local market is currently rising like the price of edible oil in the global market and therefore, the oil is being sold via mobile market trucks in 40 places of Yangon region. The currently price of edible oil hits around K7,800 per viss (a viss equals 1.6 kg) and the edible oil is being sold at K5,900 per viss via mobile market trucks in number of townships including Taikkyi, Kyauktan, North Okkalapa, Shwepyitha and Hlegu townships in Yangon region.

The price of edible oil in the global market is rising due to the conditions of production and selling power of imported countries and leaving less amount of edible oil in local market. To stabilize the local price of edible oil, the Central Bank of Myanmar sold US dollars to oil sectors at the CBM reference rate. It is reported that the cooking oil is being sold via mobile market vehicles in regions and states including the Yangon region.
