Chief of Myanmar Police Force Attends 40th ASEANAPOL Conference

A Myanmar delegation consisting of Senior Police Officers led by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of the Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Than Hlaing attended the 40thASEANAPOL Conference which was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 1 to 4 March 2022.

  • The Myanmar delegation participated in the meeting of 11th Executive Committee, meeting of Leaders of Delegation of ASEAN Police Member States in the 40th ASEANAPOL Conference, and meeting of Leaders of Delegations from ASEAN Police Member States and Dialogue Parties.
  • During the meetings, the officials discussed mutual assistance in criminal matters such as drug trafficking, violence, arms smuggling, human trafficking, wildlife crimes, maritime frauds, business fraud, cyber-crime, forgery of travel documents, and matters related to ASEAN Police Capacity Building Programme and forensic science linkages. Then, the Chiefs of the Police Force from 10 ASEAN member countries cordially met Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia.

The 40th ASEANAPOL was attended by Chiefs and Senior Officers of the Police Force from 10 ASEAN member countries, Executive Directors and Senior Police Officers of the ASEAN Police Secretariat, Police Chiefs and Senior Police Officers from partner organizations/nation: INTERPOL, China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, New Zealand, Turkey, Great Britain, Australia; study partner countries/organizations: International Association of Chiefs of Police-IACP, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) based in the US, Canada and France.
