COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Activities Continue in Respective Regions and States

COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities such as opening quarantine centres and vaccinating people against COVID-19 continue in respective regions and states.

  • Up to 6 March, 24.05 million people in total have been vaccinated against COVID-19. About 21.27 million people have received two-time full doses of the vaccine and 2.78 million people have received the first doses. A total of 46.18 million people have been inoculated against COVID-19 in Myanmar.
  • A total of 847,818 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as booster doses in respective regions and states from 1 January to 6 March 2022.
  • The COVID-19 Vaccination Fund has been opened at Myanma Economic Bank (Nay Pyi Taw). Until 4 March 2022, the close balance of the Fund in the account OA-013733 was MMK 162,556,433,692.53 and the close balance of the Fund in the account EDC-600012 was US$22,267,349.53.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 1,029 new cases of COVID-19 were found from testing a total of 16,588 samples and the infection rate was 6.20 percent on 6 March. Up to 6 March 2022, a total of 598,446 cases were detected from testing a total of 7,254,327 samples and death toll reached 19,389.
