The Union Election Commission (UEC) looked into the political parties whether they conducted systematically for the memberships of the parties, party funds and property, savings, maintaining, usage, audition and liquidation and parties’ procedures according to the Union Election Law Section 10 ( l ).
In doing so, the inspection team led by UEC members including representatives of the Union Auditor-General Office, Internal Revenue Department and Bureau of Special Investigation inspected a total of 81 political parties which are five Kachin State-based parties, two Kayin State-based parties, two Sagaing Region-based parties, one Taninthayi Region-based party, three Bago Region-based parties, two Mandalay Region-based parties, three Mon State based parties, seven Rakhine Statebased parties, 36 Yangon Region-based parties, 15 Shan State-based parties, one Ayeyawady Region-based party and four Union Territory-based parties.
Moreover, the UEC informed Yangon-based Myanmar New Society Democratic Party, Democratic Party for a New Society and Karen National Party to inspect from 7 to 11 March while the Rakhine State-based Arakan League for Democracy and Chin Statebased Khumi (Khami) National Party to examine in Rakhine State, Chin State-based Ethnic National Development Party and Yangon-based Zomi Congress for Democracy to accept Inspection in Chin State from 10 to 12 March.
