Arms, Ammunition and Related Items of PDF Terrorists Conducting Destructive Acts Seized

PDF terrorists are hiding in some villages of Wetlet, Yinmarbin and Kyunhla townships in Sagaing region and gathering there to conduct violent acts of disrupting community peace and tranquility. As some conscientious residents provided the reports about the terrorists to security forces, security forces members went to the scene on 2 March and seized 16 assorted homemade guns, five body parts of guns (being underway), 41 bullet rounds of 12-volt gun, 12 homemade bullet rounds, 11 homemade mines and other related items in some houses of Kyauktine village of Wetlet township.

As terrorists are living in some villages and conducting destructive acts, residents who want peaceful living cannot accept terrorists and secretly provide reports of terrorists’ movements, security forces members are stepping up necessary security tasks in line with the ROE based on the reports provided.

Under cover of non-military targets of religious, educational buildings and residential houses, terrorists open fire on security forces in addition to taking position at the aforementioned buildings. Such doings of terrorists are considered as committing of war crimes, violating the Geneva Conventions and International Law. Effective legal actions will be taken against terrorists under the Counter-Terrorism Law, the Panel Code and the existing laws. It is reported that security forces members will continue to carry out the counter-terrorism tasks, joining hands together with the people.
