Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win Delivers Speech at Coordination Meeting for Organizing Ceremony to Confer Religious Titles 2022

The coordination meeting between the Committee of Patrons and the Leading Committee for Organizing the Ceremony to Confer Religious Titles and Donate Rice 2022 was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw on 28 February. The Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General       Soe Win delivered a speech at the meeting as follows:

  • It was learnt that religious titles will be conferred on 284 abbots including 272 abbots at home and 12 abbots from abroad, 41 nuns, and 28 lay persons including 27 individuals at home and a woman from abroad this year. Among 28 lay persons, nine of them won the missionary titles and 19 of them won Sasana Nuggaha titles.
  • As it is an annual ceremony to be organized at the national level, it is necessary for sub-committees and working committees to cooperate systematically.
  • As the ceremony will be organized in accordance with the provisions of Section 361,362 and 363 of the Constitution 2008, it is also necessary to hold it on a grand scale in accordance with the latest restrictions of the Ministry of Health.

The Union ministers: Lt-Gen Soe Htut and U Ko Ko, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, permanent secretaries, directors general and officials also attended the meeting.
