COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Activities Continue in Respective Regions and States

COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities such as opening quarantine centres and vaccinating people against COVID-19 continue in respective regions and states.

· Up to 15 February, 23.1 million people in total have been vaccinated against COVID-19. About 20.31 million people have received two-time full doses of the vaccine and 2.79 million people have  received the first doses. 43.97 million people in total have been inoculated against COVID-19 in Myanmar.

· A total of 547,945 people have been   vaccinated against COVID-19 booster doses in respective regions and states from 1 January to 15 February 2022.

· For the COVID-19 patients living as Home Isolation and other confirmed   patients in Yangon region, Teleconsultation Program in which the patients can directly connect and consult with physicians on duty has been launched. For the program, Teleconsultation Teams      comprising specialists and medical experts were set up in respective districts. The COVID-19 patients can dial up the given numbers of respective districts and consult with the teams around the clock.

Officials continue to welcome Myanmar nationals who returned from abroad at various border crossings as per the instruction of the State Administration Council-

· Returnees were welcomed at the border crossings located in Kachin state, Kayin state, Tanintharyi region and Shan state. A total of 66,216 Myanmar nationals had returned to Myanmar from abroad from 25 July 2021 to 15 February 2022.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 2,467 new cases of COVID-19 were found from testing a total of 30,770 samples and the infected rates are 8.02 percent on 15 February. Up to 15 February 2022, a total of 550,824 cases were found from testing a total of 6,744,468 samples and death toll reached 19,314.
