Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Inspects the Newly Constructed Building for Obstetrics and Gynecology in Magway General Hospital

The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party inspected the newly constructed three-storey building for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Neonatal in Magway General Hospital in Magway city on 9 February.

The Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister heard the reports on the construction of the three-storey building with the assistance of the Japanese government in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), installation of the hospital use equipment at the newly constructed hospital building and the matters relating to the supportive learning sectors for the University of Medicine in Magway presented by the Union Minister for Health.

After hearing the reports, the Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister stressed the following points:

  • Constructing the three-storey building for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Neonatal in Magway General Hospital will benefit the region as the region has a high rate of infant mortality rates.
  • As Magway township is located in the junction area, it is necessary to provide health care services for the locals.
  • Arriving in Magway in April 2021, according to the report of the Union Minister for Health, the Chairman of the SAC immediately discussed with Japanese authorities to receive the remaining hospital equipment to be installed at the new hospital. And now, the country has received the equipment.
  • It is required to install a solar system to be used as an emergency light during a power outage.
