Union Flag to be Saluted at the Diamond Jubilee Union Day Ceremony, Relayed from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw

The event of Union Flag relay from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw, to be saluted at the Diamond Jubilee Union Day Ceremony in 2022, was organized in line with the COVID-19 rules and regulation in the morning of 8 February.

The chairman of Yangon City Development Committee Yangon Mayor carried the Union Flag erected in the silver bowl at the sitting room of the Yangon City Hall with the flag safeguarding team including Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and Myanmar Police Force and ethnic people, and planted the flag in the silver bowl on the dais at the city hall. Then, the officials saluted the Union Flag together with the Guard of Honour.

The relevant officials respectively handed over the flag to one another flanked by staff and erected the Union Flag in the silver bowl on the decorated Union Boat and carried it to Yangon International Airport flanked by the flag safeguarding team and ethnic people. Then, the transportation group for the Union Flag led by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee on Diamond Jubilee Union Day conveyed the Union Flag by military special aircraft to Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.

Continuously, the officials handed over the flag to one another flanked by staff erected the Union Flag in the silver bowl on the Union Boat and carried it from Nay Pyi Taw International Airport to City Hall.

Afterwards, the Union Flag was handed over to Nay Pyi Taw Mayor and then he planted the Union Flag in the silver bowl at Nay Pyi Taw City Hall flanked by the flag safeguarding team including Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and Myanmar Police. Then, officials saluted the Union Flag together with the Guard of Honour.

Large crowds of the ethnic nationals, military personnel and their families, Myanmar fire fighters, Myanmar Red Cross Society and departmental staff, students welcomed the Union Flag by waving small flags along the roads from Yangon City Hall to Yangon International Airport and Nay Pyi Taw International Airport to Nay Pyi Taw City Hall.
