COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Activities Continue in Respective Regions and States

COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities such as opening quarantine centres and vaccinating people against COVID-19 continue in respective regions and states.

  • As of 5 February, 22.33 million people in total have been vaccinated against COVID-19. About 19.14 million people have received two-time full doses of the vaccine and 3.19 million people have received the first doses. 41.49 million people in total have been inoculated against COVID-19 in Myanmar.
  • The figure of Omicron cases has risen to 348 in total in Myanmar up to 5 February 2022. The 264 Omicron cases are those who returned from abroad by Relief Flights and 84 cases are detected from people infected locally. The 264 Omicron cases are 244 Myanmar nationals and 20 foreigners.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 346 new cases of COVID-19 were found from testing a total of 27,444 samples and the infected rates are 1.26 percent on 5 February. Up to 5 February 2022, a total of 537,569 cases were found from testing a total of 6,497,168 samples and death toll reached 19,310.
