NUG, CRPH and their subordinate units of PDF terrorist groups are attempting to influence the people with fears by assassinating and threatening the administrative officials to disrupt the State administration mechanism. Moreover, they are also blowing up and burning down the non-military targets of religious buildings, departmental offices, houses, hospitals, clinics and schools using homemade mines/bombs.
On 4 February, PDF terrorists using heavy and small arms attacked Saw Myoma township police station from Zayar ward of Saw township and Longshay local police station in Laungshay village 12 miles away from Saw township. As the security forces returned fire, the terrorists retreated in disarray.
The terrorists, on their way of retreat, burnt down eight township department offices and two houses in total in Zayar ward so that the security forces could not pursue them. The township departmental offices burnt down by terrorists were: Township Development Committee Office; township timber producing office, Department of Agriculture Land Management and Statistics Office; Township Audit Office; Township Department of Rural Development; Township Department of Agriculture and Irrigation; Fire Services Department and Firetrucks; and Office Building of Union Solidarity and Development Party in the ward.
The PDF terrorists based on the ideology of unilateral extremism are committing the heinous crimes of arson attacks and reckless shootings and bombing attacks on government office buildings and public residences even inflicting casualties besides abducting and killing non-combatants of innocent civilians. The people are disgusted by the terrorists and also want international communities to denounce their acts.
Security forces continue necessary measures to identify and take actions against the PDF terrorists who committed the crimes of arson attacks.
