Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win Meet Tatmadaw Members and Families of Pasawng, Bawlakhe and Pruhso Stations

Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win in meeting with Tatmadaw members and families of Pasawng, Bawlakhe and Pruhso stations separately, accompanied by senior officers from Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, met and addressed Tatmadaw Members and Families of Pasawng, Bawlakhe and Pruhso Stations at the Halls of Stations separately on 2 February. In his speeches, the Vice-Senior General said that:

  • Although the Tatmadaw called for the Union Election Commission, the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and the National Defence and Security Council to take necessary action against the 10.4 million election irregularities in accordance with the law after the 2020 Multi-party General Election, but no action was taken and attempts were made to take over state power forcibly by convening the Hluttaw, the Tatmadaw assumed three branches of State power under the section 417, 418 and 419 of the Constitution (2008).
  • The Tatmadaw has never taken over the State power but assumed it under the constitution without abolishing and redrafting it.
  • So far, some organizations and people from home and abroad misunderstand the Tatmadaw’s assumption of State responsibilities as a coup.
  • The Constitution (2008) is a legislation that was designed with anticipation to meet the desire of the entire people for the multi-party democracy system and adopted with the votes of 92 per cent of the people.
  • Once the measures are taken as the provisions in the emergency period, Tatmadaw will hold free and fair multi-party democracy general election and hand over the State power to the winning party in line with the democratic standards.
  • Free and fair general elections play a major role and justice is the lifeblood of the multi-party democracy. Only then, genuine representatives, who would choose the head of state and form the government, could be elected.
  • Through right representatives, the Head of State and government will be emerged. Taking over State power unlawfully without following the correct path will not be accepted by any country and citizen.
  • The Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister set 2022 as the peace year for implementation of restoring peace as it is required to ensure the regions are peaceful and stable for holding a free and fair election.
  • As the SAC acts in accord with the law, such measures can be taken only in the emergency provision period, not on a permanent basis.
  • Although the State had experienced a variety of difficulties and challenges over the year, it could be successfully overcome thanks to the cooperation of the people including good service personnel.
  • It is necessary to correctly judge the online propaganda of the terrorist organizations namely NUG, CRPH and PDF. We need to share correct news in our environs.

The Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win presented foodstuffs for officers, other ranks and families from relevant stations and cordially greeted them.
