COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Activities Continue in Respective Regions and States

COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities such as opening quarantine centres and vaccinating people against COVID-19 continue in respective regions and states.

  • As of 30 January, 22.05 million people in total have been vaccinated against COVID-19. About 18.8 million people have received two-time full doses of the vaccine and 3.25 million people have received the first doses. 40.95 million people in total have been inoculated against COVID-19 in Myanmar.
  • 124,747 people in total have been vaccinated against COVID-19 using Sputnik Light vaccines purchased and received from Russia as a gesture of bilateral friendship, in Yangon region, Bago region, Ayeyarwady region and Mon state since 19 January.
  •  A total of 25,000 people in Sagaing region have been vaccinated against COVID-19 using Covaxin vaccines donated by Indian government, in the townships of Tamu, Hkamti, Homalin, Leshi, Lahe, Nanyun sharing border with India, from 20 to 26 January.
  •  Starting from 26 January, a total of 399 monks including Theravāda Buddhist Missionary Ovadacariya Sayardaws, novices, teaching/management and student monks and nuns who are studying at International Theravāda Buddhist Missionary University in Yangon region have been vaccinated against COVID-19 using Sinophram vaccines.
  • On 28 and 29 January, COVID-19 vaccines were distributed to Naypyidaw Council Territory, Monywa, Mandalay, Taunggyi, Pathein, Hpa-An, Bago, Hlegu, Pyay, Magway, Mawlamyine, Keng Tung, Kale, Hakha, Tedim, Tonzang, Zalam, Myitkyina, Sittwe, Thandwe, Dawei, Myeik and Kawthaung townships by Cold Chain Delivery Logistics vehicles and Tatmadaw Aircrafts.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 174 new cases of COVID-19 were found from testing a total of 9,285 samples and the infected rates are 1.87 percent on 30 January. Up to 30 January 2022, a total of 535,254 cases were found from testing a total of 6,345,348 samples and death toll reached 19,310.
