A Large Crowd of Students and Youths Continues Participating in Youth and Literature Festival to Mark the Diamond Jubilee of Union Day

A ceremony to launch the Youth and Literature Festival to mark Diamond Jubilee Union Day took place at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on 29 January with the aims: to improve the physical and mental aspects of youths; to uplift the five strengths of physique, wisdom, morals, friendship, and wealth; and to materialize the future society with the good thoughts of the youths. The festival arranges more than 40 booths exhibited by respective Ministries and programmes as follows:

  • The programme for students and youths to study the trainings of athletes who will compete in the 31st SEA Game which will be held in Vietnam with the intent to promote the national sport sector as well as the sport spirt of the students and the youths.
  • A booth of aerospace with the aims to make Myanmar youths to interest themselves in the aerospace subject and emerge human resources that will support the State after studying the modern technologies of aerospace engineering.
  • Sarpay Beikman book selling booth for the students, youths and the children who are enthusiastic in books and literature.
  • Besides the programmes of presenting gifts, other programmes of team games for the fun of youths and children participating in the festival such as painting game, house-building games, toys-setting games and proverb games.

Since it is the time of COVID-19 pandemic, people are allowed to participate in the festival only after being tested as per the COVID-19 precautionary measures set by the Ministry of Health. Moreover, in case of health problem arise, emergency health care services programme was also included. It is reported that the festival was actively participated by staff and family members of Ministries, students and youths.
