Myanmar Navy Carries Out SAR Activities for a Fishing Boat Stranding in Myanmar Sea

On 28 January, Myanmar Navy carried out rescue activities for a fishing boat named Moe Kaung (9) standing on the coral reef eight miles to the west of the Hainggyikyun due to engine failure caused by the bad weather. Myanmar Navy performed the action as per the Search and Rescue (SAR) missions included in the benign role of its four primary roles.

It is reported that 18 fishermen on the boat were provided necessary healthcare services as well as clothes and food items.
