Offenders Given Respective Sentences for Keeping Explosive Devices in Hand

Offenders Tun Tun (aka) ET, Thet Naing and Thura Phyo Wai, residents of No (14), (9) and (3) wards of Shwepyitha township in Yangon region placed under the Martial Law were prosecuted under military tribunal for keeping saltpetere in hand used in explosion and encouraging to keep them, and sentenced to “20 years imprisonment” under Sections 4(b) and 6 of the Explosive Substances Act on 26 January.

It issued 23 crimes to be heard by the military tribunal in the townships placed under the Martial Law and effective actions will be taken by the military tribunal if those who commit one of these crimes.

• Three offenders living in Shwepyitha were sentenced to “20 years life imprisonment” under Sections 4(b) and 6 of the Explosive Substances Act for keeping the explosive devices in hand.
