Displaced Persons Return to Respective Homes as Peace and Stability Restored in Kayah State

Local people, fleeing to safer places from the clashes in Loikaw Township and surrounding villages, are returning to their respective places as peace and stability of the area become better. The number of local residents returning to their respective places in Kayah state is as follows:

· On 22 and 23 January, 314 local residents from Loikaw township and the surrounding villages.

· On 24 January, 222 local residents from Loikaw township and surrounding villages.

· On 25 January, 212 local residents from Loikaw township and surrounding villages, a total of 748 local residents during the period from 22 to 25 January.

Security forces members controlled around the areas in Kayah state where clashes broke out between security forces and terrorists since 22 January, restoring peace and stability in the areas. In addition, markets reopen and return to a normal trading, and people are normally visiting Buddhist pagodas and other religious sites.
