Activities of Daily Living Returning to Normal Condition and Displaced Persons Re-entering as Community Peace and Tranquility Restored in Kayah State

As security forces uncovered and arrested so-called NUG and PDF terrorists in Kayah state, engagements with a combined group comprising so-called PDF members and some KNPP members were broken out in January 2022. Therefore, innocent residents living in Loikaw township and the vicinity of the area have fled from the battle points to the areas freed from danger.

As peace and tranquility have been restored around the area since 22 January after security forces have re-controlled the area, markets have reopened and returned to a normal condition. Moreover, people are going on normal pilgrimages to pagodas and other religious temples. It is reported that 314 displaced persons, among the fled persons lived in Loikaw and the vicinity of the villages, returned their native places on 22 and 23 January, and officials received them systematically  and provided necessary assistances to them.
