Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Meets and Encourages War Veterans and Families Living at Advanced War Veterans’ Housing (Mandalay)

The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commader-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accompanied by senior military officers and officials met with war Veterans and families living at Advanced War Veterans’ Housing (Mandalay) on 23 January. During the meeting, the Senior General stressed the following points:

• He has been striving for convenience of socio-economic development of war veterans and families as much as possible. He expressed his delightedness that war veterans and families at the Advance Housing Complex for War Veterans (Mandalay) have led conveniently lives to some extent although not everything is available.
• As Myanmar is a developing country, the government has to spend a limited budget but measures were taken to pay taxes fully to the government by the businesses of the Tatmadaw to help fulfil the tasks for the welfare of personnel and families.
• All functions were undertaken under the law without seeking chances. The profits from these businesses are being spent on welfare tasks for Tatmadaw members, war veterans and families.
• War veterans need to conserve their environments as the Tatmadaw has created housings and job opportunities.
• Tatmadaw personnel are born of the people and make up a part of the State. Every country prioritizes the Tatmadaw discharging the State Defence duty but those seeking the political profit utilize the national political endeavours of the Tatmadaw in the political arena.

The Chairman of the SAC Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services presented rice, cooking oil and foodstuff produced by Tatmadaw factory for war veterans and families from the Housing, and attended to their needs.
