The Myanmar Press Council released a statement on 22 December, stating that media agencies and press personnel not to describe the designations, departments, names and titles of office holders under previous administration as if they are holding the respective positions at present.
- Media agencies are required to observe and appropriately describe the names, designations, departments and protocols for incumbent government as well as the designations, departments, names and titles of previous administration under the Law.
- Myanmar Press Council (MPC) has noted that some media and press personnel are stating the designations, names and titles of office holders under previous administration as if they are holding the respective positions at present. Therefore, MPC would not intervene and provide any assistance in case incidents of breaching laws occur as a result of such non-compliance.
