Seizures of Narcotics in December 2024

Members of anti-narcotic task force from Ministry of Home Affairs joining hands together with security personnel are putting an emphasis on anti-narcotic measures, and the seizures of narcotics in December 2024 were as follows:

• From 1 to 31 December, a total of 635 drug-related offenders including 540 males and 95 females were arrested along with a total of MMK77,140.995 million (over USD 23.165 million) worth of narcotic drugs: 51.59 kilos of opium; 227.21 kilos of heroin; 21,990,205 stimulant tablets; 0.39 kilos of stimulant tablets pieces; 502.07 kilos of ICE; 84.61 kilos of marijuana; 60.05 kg of concentrated poppy straw; 0.015 kg of low-grade opium; 59.31 kg of poppy leaves; 16.7 kg of opium powder; 1.8 liters of liquid opium; 149,940 Ecstasy tablets; 9.2 kg of Ecstasy tablets pieces; 303,900 Alprazolam tablets; 700 Erimin-5 tablets; 950 Frimin tablets; 26,110 Happy-5 tablets; 43.473 kilos of Ketamine; 0.008 kilos of Cocaine; 38.85 kilos of Happy Water; 1,880 kilos of caffeine; 7,260 kilos of Ammonium Nitrate; 3,080 liters of Ethyl Acetate; 725 liters of Acetic Acid; 13,200 liters of Benzyl Cyanide; 10,000 liters of Caustic Soda; 880 liters of  Formaldehyde; 1,225 liters of Nitric Acid and 1,400 liters of chemical solution were seized.

The arrested drug-related offenders were handed over to the relevant police stations and harsh legal actions are being taken against them under the law. Members of anti-narcotic drugs task force, joining hands with security force members, are making further identification to apprehend drug-related offenders for the sake of elimination of narcotic drugs.
