A military parade in honour of the 77th Anniversary of Myanmar Navy was held at the Naval Training Command Headquarters in Thanlyin Station on 24 December. Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win, Chief of Staff (Navy) Vice-Admiral Aye Min Htwe, retired Commanders-in-Chief (Navy), Naval Command HQs commander, naval base commanders, officials, officers, the ranks and families from Thanlyin military station and invitees attended the ceremony.
First, the military parade was held as planned, with saluting the national flag and all fallen soldiers as well as taking four oaths. Then, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) inspected the parade companies and delivered a speech to mark the 77th Anniversary of Myanmar Navy.
Similarly, listening to Paritta sermon ceremony plus early morning alms offering ceremony were held at the Maha Nawanikazaya Mingala Beikman in Thanlyin military station. The Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and wife, and those present at the ceremony received the Five Precepts from and listened to the sermons delivered by the Chairman of State’s Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and presiding patron of Thanlyin Minkyaung Buddhist scriptures learning centre, Agga Maha Thadharma Jotikadhaja Dr. Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa led venerable Sayadaws. After that, they offered alms to Sayadaws and made offertories to the-said Sayadaws, it is reported.
