Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Inspects Progress in Urban Development Undertakings in Hlinethaya Township and Yangon Western Technological University

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by entourages, inspected the progress in urban development undertakings in Hlinethaya Township and Yangon Western Technological University in Yangon Region on 29 November. The Senior General instructed the officials after hearing the reports as follows:

  • As many workers in factories and workshops reside in Hlinethaya Township, proper planning and development of platforms and infrastructure are needed. Hlinethaya Township must be standardized under the systematic town plan.
  • In Hlinethaya, proper water flow and water management is a key issue that must be prioritized. It is essential to ensure that water intake and discharge systems are functioning properly throughout the entire township.
  • Green zones must be created in a three-mile radius area of Hlinethaya. As policies have been set to ensure the plantation of trees along roadsides and in residential areas, authorities have to implement and carry out these policies accordingly.

On arrival at the Yangon Western Technological University, the Senior General heard reports on a brief overview of the university’s history, the learning of students at the university, the appointment of administration and academic staff, and completion of the implementation of the guidance of the Senior General on his inspection tour of the university presented by the rector. After hearing the reports, the Senior General gave the instructions as follows:

  • It needs to consider for ensuring cleanliness and beautification on campus and its surroundings. It is necessary to calculate the construction of extended lecture halls and other supporting buildings to meet the university characteristics with the long-term consideration.
  • The development should include planting trees and flowers within the school grounds, as well as designing walkways, sports areas, and recreational spaces in alignment with the student population, ensuring that the scale and distance are appropriate for their needs.

Later, the Senior General inspected the progress of a three-storey lecture building of the university and left necessary guidance upon the reports of the officials.
