Over K1.32 Billion Worth of Narcotics Seized in Mandalay

The combined team comprising Anti-Narcotics Task Force members across the country are putting an emphasis on seizure of narcotic drugs and drug-trafficking. In this regard:

  • On 27 October, acting on a tip-off, a combined team conducted a search on ISUZU D-MAX vehicle driven by Ko Ko Maung (aka) Chan Pyae Maung, accompanied by Tin Ko, heading to Kyaukse from Taunggyi, near Than Ywar village of Kyaukse Township and seized K1.32 billion worth of 0.88 million stimulant tablets.
  • The offenders plotted to carry out drug-trafficking to Phayathonzu Township of Kayin State from Shan state (South).

Legal action has been taken against them under the law, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify the chain drug-related offenders. Again, money profits and the property of the offenders involved in the drug-related crimes will be taken actions under Anti-Money Laundering Law, it is reported.
