The 42nd ASEANPOL Conference hosted by the Myanmar Police Force was held in Nay Pyi Taw on 23 October. The closing ceremony of the conference was held on 24 October at the Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC I).
During the ceremony, a Joint-Statement for the 42nd ASEANAPOL Conference was signed, and the ASEANAPOL commemorative plaque was handed over to the Royal Thai Police Force, which will host the 43rd ASEANAPOL Conference. The Myanmar Police Chief delivered the closing speech for the conference.
During the conference, a separate meeting between the Myanmar Police Force and Indonesian National Police, Lao Police Force and Royal Thai Police discussed how to increase police cooperation. The friendly sports tournaments were held. The guests’ wives were sent to the famous places in the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, visiting the Maravijaya Buddha Image, Myanmar Gems Museum, the National Museum and observing environmental landscapes and held a second plenary meeting.
Police chiefs from ASEANPOL member countries, High-ranking police officers and their wives, representative members, delegates of dialogue partners – Russia, Australia, China, INTERPOL and the ASEAN Secretariat, observers: Timor-Leste, ICRC and the UAE, and invitees were also present at the event, it is reported.
