Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win addressed the First Coordination Meeting of the Central Committee for Organizing the 77th Anniversary of Independence Day 2025 which was held at the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw on 22 October.
During the meeting, SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win made remarks as follows:
- The 77th Anniversary of Independence Day will be held in accord with the five national objectives to ensure harmonized development of the entire Union in all aspects through the united strength of whole people, and to strive for the State to uplift politics, economic, defence, national characters and national spirit with firm perseverance, persistence and diligence in accord with the motto: “Keep Moving Forward to Achieve Our Goal”.
- The independence means free from clutches while the sovereignty stands for freedom and self-determination.
- The countries having authority to make decisions without strings can be defined as sovereign countries.
- Some countries are independent but do not have sovereignty, whereas some countries are sovereign but do not have independence.
- All should exert efforts to collectively protect independence as Myanmar has striven for many years to regain its independence and sovereignty.
- Although concerted efforts have been made to regain independence for many years, situations can be seen in global countries to lose independence within one day or one morning.
- The global political landscape currently shows a deterioration in the balance of power. Some countries attempt to talk hate speeches based on self-interest and words of hostility in order to devastate the globalization process at the meetings of global countries.
- The political landscape of the world proves hegemony, contending between multilateralism and unilateralism, accepting dogmatic “Everyone who differs from my attitude is my enemy”, and staging proxy governments.
- Myanmar is a country formed with over 100 different types of national races and located between powerful countries. The Prime Minister had adopted the objectives of Independence Day with the essence of sustaining the independence of the State through united strength, not to lose sovereignty as big power countries are making attempts to shape Myanmar as an independent country without sovereignty.
- As Independence Day ceremonies are held in accord with the national objectives with full essence, relevant subcommittees have to serve their duties with awareness and diligence.
Later, chairs and officials of the relevant subcommittees reported on preparations, committee-wise tasks and sector-wise duties in order to hold the Independence Day ceremony successfully. After that, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister coordinated the requirements.
Also present were central committee member union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, deputy ministers, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and officials. Secretaries of the subcommittees joined the event through videoconferencing.
